You can consider adding recessed ceiling fixture for general overall lighting. By this way, you can expand the height of the ceiling using this type of fixture. Your space will be more crowded and the ceiling looks lower if you use surface mounted fixture or hanging pendant.
5: Material and Finishes
For larger appearance result, you can use lighter or more subtle colors if you choose wallpaper, paint or tile to make your bathroom look larger. If you use wallpaper in your bathroom, avoid using large busy patterns. You can choose a side of wall to apply wallpaper and you can paint other side using similar colors.
